Mollywood superstar Mohanlal's 'Oppam', directed by his long-time friend Priyadarshan, was released as a grand Onam festival release. The film has Mohanlal playing a visually-impaired middle-aged man entangled in a murder mystery. It has been getting positive reviews from all corners and is expected to create new box office records.

The surprise is that Priyadarshan arranged a special screening of the film for Superstar Rajinikanth at the latter's residence in Chennai.

Sources say that Rajinikanth was eager to watch the film after he heard about the film from Priyadarshan himself. The director has given a few memorable super hits in tandem with Mohanlal, but is yet to work with Rajinikanth (though he has directed a few Tamil films).

'Kabali' proves that the Superstar would be most liked if he plays his age. It will also be really good to see the Superstar in a thriller flick after a long time and play his age. Will 'Oppam' be Rajini's next remake? Watch this space!
