At a time when she is going strong in Telugu and Tamil, Shruti Haasan recently bagged a tri-lingual titled 'Sangamitra', to be directed by Sundar C of 'Chandrakala' fame. The period drama will see her in the role of a warrior-princess, something akin to the 'Kill Bill' lady's character in spirit.
The news is that Shruti is now training for sword-fighting to get the moves right. "In gearing up for the challenging role, Shruti is leaving no stone unturned. She plays a complex character, who is a consummate fighter. Currently, she is undergoing training in sword-fighting from a professional trainer (an action choreographer) in London," says a source close to the actress.
She is almost starting from the scratch as she wants to be a perfectionist. Intense mind mapping techniques (taught in theatre schools) by professional swordsmen are going to help her learn the ropes fast.
