It’s over for the most loved celebrity couple Samantha Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya. On Saturday, the couple released a joint statement on their respective social media handles confirming their separation. “After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well-wishers, and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on”, wrote Samantha.

The couple's heart-breaking announcement has shocked their fans and colleagues alike. While several celebs including Khushbu and Kangana reacted to the statement, it is actor Siddharth's tweet that is grabbing the eyeballs of many. The actor, who was earlier in a relationship with Samantha, penned a cryptic post hours after she announced her separation. "One of the first lessons I learnt from a teacher in school..."Cheaters never prosper." What's yours?" He tweeted. Several netizens reacted to the actor's tweet and asked if he was referring to his rumoured former lover Samantha. Reportedly, Siddharth and Samantha were in a relationship for over two-and-half-years before they broke up in 2015.

After a few years of dating, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya, who worked together in several movies, got married in 2017. Rumors of their break-up began doing the rounds after the actress dropped the Akkineni surname from her social media accounts and changed into ‘S’. Adding fuel to the fire, the actress was nowhere to be seen in the pictures from the dinner hosted by Chaitanya’s family for actor Aamir Khan and the recent success party of Naga Chaitanya's film, Love Story.
