Silk Smitha's psyche to be explored in web series

Silk Smitha, who ruled the roost as the sexiest item girl ever in Indian cinema in the 1980s and early 1990s, met a tragic death at the age of 35 in 1996. A biopic on her was made in Hindi titled 'Dirty Picture' in 2011 with Vidya Balan portraying her character.
More than two decades since her death, Silk Smitha continues to be enigma and director Pa. Ranjith of 'Kabali' and 'Kaala' fame is making a web series focusing on the hitherto unknown side of her childhood which was instrumental in making her what she was. The actress who plays Silk and other cast and crew details are expected soon.?
After delivering the dud called 'Kaala', Pa. Ranjith is doing a Bollywood film next for which the casting is underway. He is also producing a film in Tamil.
