Actor Simbu had last acted in the disastrous venture Vandha Rajavathaan Varuven directed by Sundar.C and is currently shooting for Hansika Motwani's 50th movie Maha, directed by debutant UR Jameel and produced by V Mathiyalagan's Etcetera Entertainment.

Maha will feature Simbu as a pilot, and this will be an extended cameo appearance of 40 minutes and the team is planning to shoot his portions in this week, following which it has been said that Simbu is all set to begin shooting for his most expected, much delayed flick Maanadu.

As per sources Manaadu is all set to begin shooting this month, and scenes involving Simbu and the female lead Kalyani Priyadarshan will be shot in Malaysia. The movie directed by Venkat Prabhu is said to have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and will feature Bharathiraja in a key role.
