Keen to repeat the success of Tirupachy is Vijay and director Perarasu in Sivakasi, which would be released this Deepavali.

Action-packed entertainer, Sivakasi stars Asin opposite Vijay, while Prakashraj plays the baddie.

Vijay hopes that Sivakasi will hold its own in the wake of Deepavali competition. 'I could see the potential of director Perarasu in Tirupachi. It's nice to work again with him with the confidence of a hit behind us. The film has shaped well and should do well.'

Perarasu, who has penned the lyrics for all the songs, said the duel between the brothers - Prakashraj playing Vijay's brother - will be the high point of the movie. Many issues get sorted out with the two digging out deep into their reserves.'

Perarasu's next film is with Ajith titled Tirupathy under the big AVM banner.

Art director G K had brought Ranganathan Street alive in the form of a huge set at the Prasad Studios.

'Vijay is in the role of an electric welder having come from Sivakasi to Chennai for his livelihood. As per the script, the happenings were confined in and around Ranganthan Street. No compromise was made on the quality, bringing alive the hustle and bustle of the hub of T Nagar, said G K, pleased with his work.

Yesteryear actress Geetha plays Vijay's mother in the movie

Srikanth Deva scores the music for the movie produced by A M Ratnam of Sri Surya Movies.
