Sonia Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee condole Om Puri's demise

A huge shock struck the entire nation when news of veteran actor Om Puri's demise broke out. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee condoled the death of Om Puri.

"Om Puri was a gifted actor and socially conscious human being. Indian film industry has lost a pillar," Gandhi said.

While Mamata Banerjee tweeted her condolence thus, "Saddened at sudden passing (away) of Om Puriji. His acting skills were appreciated around the world. Condolences to family, friends, fraternity".

Om Puri, 66, died on Friday following a heart attack in Mumbai.
