Actor Suriya will be seen next in the movie Soorarai Pottru, which is directed by Irudhi Suttru makerr Sudha Kongara, and the movie has been produced by Suriya's 2D entertainment and Guneeth Monga's Sikhya Entertainments. Soorarai Pottru is planned to be released in Summer.

Even before the announcement of the release date, it has been revealed that Soorarai Pottru, which is already being dubbed and released in Telugu as Aakashame Nee Haddhura and also in Kannada, will be remade in Hindi. Producer Guneet Monga has reportedly got the Hindi remake rights, and more details on the cast of the Hindi remake will be announced soon.

Soorarai Pottru is based on the life of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath, and has Suriya playing a character named Nedumaran Rajangam. This movie which has music by GV Prakash also stars Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal, Mohan Babu, Karunaas and Kaali Venkat.
