Last week, Soundarya Rajinikanth was appointed as the Brand Ambassador of Animal Welfare Board of India, last week.

The multi-faceted daughter of the Superstar received shower of praises from celebrities, media persons and general public for this new honour. However some fringe outfits campaigning for lifting the ban on Jallikattu, have started spreading uncanny rumours about this development. They allege that the AWBI has been instrumental in getting Tamil Nadu's age old sport, bull-taming sport, banned by the Supreme Court and Soundarya's appointment may have ulterior motives to suppress the protests for lifting the ban on Jallikattu.

Here is the timely clarification from Soundarya's side explaining for what purpose she will be working with AWBI and how it has nothing to do with Jallikattu.

"Soundarya Rajinikanth who is well-versed in Animation and Computer Graphics has been honoured as the Brand Ambassador of Animal Welfare Board of India and also part of the Performance Sub Committee. Her job is to monitor and survey the use of animals in films.

She will ensure the safety of animals in the use of films. She will also monitor the use of graphics in such films and will say whether the makers have used graphics or shot with real life animals. This is completely apt for her as she has in-depth knowledge in Animation and she also has directed 'Kochadaiiyaan' which is an Animation film that used performance motion capture technique."
