The legendary singer and always positive human being S. P. Balasubrahmanyam passed away this afternoon at 1.04pm due to a cardio-respiratory arrest.  He was admitted at the MGM hospital from August 5th after testing positive for COVID 19 and was battling for his life till his very last breath with some respite for a few days in between.  (The photo below was taken in his last days when physiotherapy was attempted)

SPB's mortal remains have been brought to his house at Kamdar Nagar in Nungambakkam Chennai where celebrities and the public would be allowed to pay their last respects.  The much-loved playback doyen tested negative for coronavirus on September 4th itself and hence the public are reportedly allowed to catch a glimpse of him for one last time.

The last rites of SPB is expected to be held at his farmhouse in Thamaraipakkam near Chennai on Saturday, September 26th at 11 am.
