DMK’s working president and Leader of the Opposition M.K. Stalin has demanded cancellation of the appointment of Assembly Secretary as norms had been put to dust in following the set procedure for making such appointments.

Srinivasan has just been appointed as the Assembly Secretary; Governor Banwarilal Purohit has given his consent to the appointment of Srinivasan.  Stalin, however, has demanded that the appointment be cancelled forthwith as the set procedure in making such appointments hadn’t been followed by the State Government.

“Educational qualification, experience, etc. haven’t been taken into reckoning while making the appointment which has been made violating the set procedure to be followed while making such appointments. This is against the rules and it is not clear how Governor accorded his permission to such a kind of appointment,” Stalin said yesterday in a statement.

He has also demanded immediate cancellation of the appointment of Assembly Secretary in view of the objections raised by him.
