Actor R Madhavan's latest film 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' was released a few days ago. Although it failed to open with good box office numbers, the biographical drama was praised by critics for its direction, performance and subject matter. On Monday, superstar Rajinikanth himself took to his Twitter outlet to heap praises on the film.

Appreciating R Madhavan's efforts to tell the story of Dr Nambi Narayanan to the world, Rajnikanth urged youngsters to watch the film. His Twitter statement read, "Everyone should watch Rocketry, especially the youngsters. To develop the space research program of our country, Padma Bhushan Nambi Narayanan had made many sacrifices and faced a lot of struggles."

The statement further read, "Madhavan has made a biopic movie of his life. He has delivered a very lived-in performance and in his very first film, he has proved that he is on par with other great filmmakers. I thank him for giving us such a film. Congratulations."

For the unversed, 'Rocketry' is based on the life of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan who was falsely accused of treason and espionage. It took Dr Nambi Narayanan around two decades of legal battle to prove his innocence.
