The latest is that Superstar Rajinikanth will meet with Lokesh Kanagaraj this month before the next schedule of Leo. Reportedly, the Rajini-Lokesh film is expected to be 'Thalaivar 171' with music likely by Anirudh.

A reliable source from the industry said, "After TJ Gnanavel, Rajini had expressed his wish to work with Lokesh Kanagaraj and the filmmaker was quite elated as well. They will be meeting this month to take things forward and the movie will be produced by one of Lokesh's producers from his previous films. It is too early to talk about the details of the project but we will have clarity after the first round of meeting."

Lokesh Kanagaraj's film with Superstar Rajinikanth is pending for a long time now. The two were supposed to team up under Kamal Haasan's production before the lockdown but the project got delayed due to the pandemic and Lokesh made the industry hit, 'Vikram' with Kamal.
