Earlier today we had reported that Superstar Rajinikanth's latest release 'Kabali' has collected over Rs.11 crores in just three weeks in Chennai city alone. The film has been creating new records at the box office from centers across the globe since its day of release.

Now we bring you a new record created by the Pa.Ranjith directorial in Tamil Nadu. A reliable source in Kollywood trade circle informs that 'Kabali' which released on July 22, has so far collected around Rs.76 crores in Tamil Nadu. This makes it the biggest grossing Tamil film of the year in TN, surpassing producer Kalaipuli. S.Thanu's previous production venture 'Theri' starring Vijay.

Another remarkable feat created by 'Kabali' in Chennai city is this. The film has collected Rs.4 crores in the SPI Cinemas theatre chain with five multiplexes across Chennai. The film has crossed a whopping 1,300 shows in these theatres.

It is worth noting that SPI Cinemas is the distributor of 'Kabali' in Chennai. The film starring Rajinikanth and Radhika Apte in lead roles has turned out to be an all class hit with a slow pickup after early mixed reviews.

This yet again proves that the super power of the Superstar is still unshaken.
