Suriya is Tamilnadan

Suriya is playing an interesting role in 'Haiku', his maiden production venture, and the name of his character is Tamilnadan. "When Suriya came forward to produce the movie, I told him it would be nice if he plays this role. He gave his nod immediately," says director Pandiraj.

Amala Paul plays a teacher in this flick, which also has Karthik and Bindu Madhavi in key roles. "But all these popular faces are like character artistes only. Because, the real heroes of 'Haiku' are a bunch of kids," the filmmaker says.

Shooting for 'Haiku' is over and the movie will hit the screens soon. "Extracting work from kids was a nice experience. At the same time, it was also a tough job," adds Pandiraj.
