Suriya's 'Perazhagan' director passes away

Sasi Shanker, who has directed Suriya's 2004 comedy hit for AVM banner Perazhagan' passed away today. According to reports the popular Malayalam director was a diabetic and his wife found him in an unconscious state this morning at his home and rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
The 57 year old Sasi Shankar made his debut with Narayam' in 1993 and went on to make ten other films with the most successful being Kunjukoonan' starring Dileep and Navya Nair which was later remade with Suriya and Jyothika as Perazhagan'. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the departed soul's family. RIP Sasi Shankar.
