Suriya who won the National Award for Best Actor and Best Film for his 'Soorarai Pottru' is going great guns in his career with mega budget pan Indian flicks in the pipeline. He is currently shooting for Siruthai Siva's ambitious two part extravaganza 'Suriya 42' jointly produced by Studio Green and UV Creations.

Several months back Suriya agreed to produce and act in 'Vanangaan' directed by Bala that had Krithi Shetty as the female lead. The team shot for 40 days in Kanyakumari and the Indian ocean but the big budget project came to an abrupt stop due to creative differences. After that it was rumoured that the project is shelved but Suriya put an end to it by posting a happy photo with Bala who gave him his first break through 'Nandhaa' indicating that all was well.

It was also reported that director A.L. Vijay replaced Sudha Kongara as the executive producer and creative collaborator for 'Vanangaan'. Now fresh reports are saying that Bala and Suriya have decided to discontinue the film as the script for the second half is not satisfactory. The same reports suggest that Bala has come up with another storyline that has impressed Suriya and the scripting has begun for that.

If this turns out to be true then the new Suriya-Bala project will take much longer to go on floors. It is also said that the 'Suriya 42' story requires almost a year's call sheet from its hero and 'Vanangaan' may be pushed to late 2023 or early 2024. Its also not clear if the same title will be used or a different one. A word of caution here is that there is no official word regaring this development yet.
