I am going abroad only for my son Simbu - T. Rajendar's tearful speech before leaving India

Legendary multitalented filmmaker T. Rajendar left to the USA for advanced treatment for a stomach related illness for which he was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennnai. At the airport he spoke to the press stating that he agreed to go abroad on the insistence of his elder son Simbu.

TR got emotional when he said that Simbu is stationed in the US for the past twelve days making arrangements for the treatment there and had to forego the audio lanuch of his film 'Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu' and the shooting of 'Pathu Thala'. He added that he is proud that he has a son who is not only talented but has so much of love for his parents.

TR thanked Tamil Nadu chief minister Stalin, MNM leader Kamal Haasan, Vels Group head Ishari Ganesh and SRM group owner Pachaimuthu for visiting him at the hospital and wishing him well. The legendary actor-filmmaker said he is hopeful that he will return in prime health and will explain to the press all details of his health.
