It has been one week since the severe rains that has devastated many lives in Chennai has stopped. But still power supply which was suspended last week Tuesday is yet to be resumed in quite a few places in the city.

Actor Kamal Haasan's house located at the Eldams road corner in Alwarpet and places surrounding this spot still reel under the darkness without electricity.

Kamal had quoted criticizing the governance in Tamil Nadu, in a news article published in a English website. In a clarification statement issued on Monday, the legendary actor had denied commenting anything about the State Government in the interview and claimed that his quotes were misrepresented.

Now it is being rumored that Kamal is being targeted for criticizing the government and that's why power supply was suspended and water that has stagnated in front of his residence cum office was not drained out.

However the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation, which is responsible for generation and supply of electricity in the state has come up with a clarification which refutes the claim that Kamal was being targeted. It says that wires transmitting electricity have been cut down and fallen on stagnated water during the deluge and that's why delay has been caused in rescue operations. Now the works have begun and electricity will be restored very soon.
