After the recent release 'Annaathe', Superstar Rajinikanth and Sun Pictures are joining hands once more for 'Thalaivar 169'. The film is to be directed by Nelson with music by Anirudh and the announcement video released on February 10th created a storm on the internet trending at number one.

'Thalaivar 169' will reportedly go on floors in a few months time and pre production work will begin after Thalapathy Vijay's 'Beast' release which is directed by Nelson and produced by Sun Pictures as well.

Latest reports suggest that talks have begun with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to star as Rajinikanth's pair in 'Thalaivar 169'. The charismatic stars earlier shared screen space in Shankar's 'Enthiran' released in 2010. Official confimation is awaited.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is currently starring in dual roles as Nandhini and Mandhakini Devi in Mani Ratnam's epic multistarrer 'Ponniyin Selvan' and its sequel which has top actors Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Prabhu and Jayaram among others in the cast.
