The 'Thalapathy 63' locations in Chennai are a beehive of activity as the shooting is going on continuously for the past several weeks with the major cast of Vijay, Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Yogi Babu, Anandaraj, Vivek and Daniel Balaji participating.

It has now emerged that there is a strong emotional reason why the entire 'Thalapathy 63' barring a few portions in foreign locations is shot in Chennai. Vijay insisted to shoot at home as he wanted the local technicians and laborers to be benefited. Its a praiseworthy gesture in spite of the mass hero having to face thousands of fans mobbing him every day after and before the shoot.

'Thalapathy 63' directed by Atlee and produced by AGS Entertainment has music by A.R. Rahman, cinematography by G.K. Vishnu, editing by Ruben and production design by T. Muthuraj. The film is slated for release on Diwali 2019.
