The shooting of 'Thalapathy62' one of the most expected films of the year commenced in Chennai and many important scenes including a song sequence are being canned in various locations .  After the completion of the Chennai schedule the team would move to Kolkata where major portions of the film are set to be shot.  It may be recalled that the Vijay-A.R. Murugadoss blockbuster hit 'Kaththi' too was extensively shot in the West Bengal capital.

'Thalapathy62' has Vijay and Keerthy Suresh pairing up for the second time while Yogi Babu and Premkumar have pivotal roles.  Music is by A.R. Rahman, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan and editing by Sreekhar Prasad while Sun Pictures is bankrolling this mega project.
