Music director openly criticizes Thalapathy Vijay looks and dressing sense

The grand audio launch of Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming family entertainer 'Varisu' was recently held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. The show was aired on New Year evening Sun TV with high TRP ratings. Fans especially enjoyed Vijay's speech at the end and were also treated to his singing the super hit 'Ranjithame" song. The film is releasing worldwide on January 12th during the Pongal festival.

'Varisu' audio launch was attended by the film's music director Thaman, leading lady Rashmika Mandanna, producer Dil Raju, director Vamshi Paidipally and several cast and crew members alongwith celebrity guests. Thalapathy fans filled the entire stadium and cheered their icon nonstop.

Meanwhile music composer and television personality James Vasanthan has posted a critical opinion about Vijay on Facebook. His long post read "When the audio launch of 'Varisu' was going on in the television, I accidentally peeked for a moment. Vijay was talking. At first glance, his appearance was a bit nerve wracking. It looked like the head could have been trimmed a bit more, the beard a bit more streamlined, and it could have been dressed for the grand occasion. He may have thought it was simplicity; or his fans might argue. Simplicity and appropriateness are two different things. Simplicity and relevance are different things. I say this in general."

The 'Subramaniyapuram' composer added "Why do we dress so responsibly when we go to a job or an interview? Isn't there an ideal look for every place? The influence of an actor, and that too of a super hero like Vijay, is very intense on the lay fans who grasp and follow every move of an actor. This is one of the unspoken things that should be taught to the shopaholic youth who mirrors his screen hero in every move of his daily life,".

The director of such films as 'Vaanavil Vaazhkai' and 'Oh! Andha Naatkal' further added "Where does he go to learn how to dress for any event? In India, where cinema and cricket are the lifeblood, a person in these fields has certain responsibilities, whether you like it or not. It's understandable that you get bored of all the fancy clothes in movies and want to keep it simple in real life. But it is a public platform. A crazy young man is watching you,"

James Vasanthan concluded "No one in Hollywood and Bollywood, even in Andhra Pradesh, is indifferent to this aspect. It is well known that stars are wealthy. No one will misunderstand you. Your fan is the first person to be happy when his hero looks good! Dress well for formal arena events. Enjoy the holidays by dressing up to your heart's content. Teach these practical guidelines to a young person who follows you blindly,"

Thalapathy Vijay meanwhile has moved on to his next 'Thalapathy 67' that went on floors on January 2nd in Chennai. The film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is produced by Seven Screen Studios with Anirudh scoring the music. The film reportedly stars Vijay, Trisha Krishnan, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Action King Arjun.
