The rise and fall of Ram Gopal Varma

There were days when Ram Gopal Varma’s films were considered to be a guide to filmmaking and he was considered to be an inspiration to many budding directors. There are directors like Puri Jagannadh, Krishna Vamsi and Teja who were his disciples and students.

He has made films like Shiva, Satya, Sarkar, Bhoot, Rangeela, Kshanam Kshanam, Gayam, Gulabi, Antham, and many other amazing films.

But slowly, admiration towards RGV has been decreasing and hatred has been growing.

If observed, the quality content in RGV’s films has come down. He has shifted his focus from mainstream content to some silly content which offers nothing but controversies to the audience.

Let us take a look at his last few films. Lakshmi’s NTR, Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu, Beautiful, Climax, Naked, Power Star, Thriller, 12’o clock, Corona Virus, Murder, Enter The Girl Dragon and recently announced Dangerous. In the above, not all films have released. But these show the kind of downfall RGV is having for a few years now.

His approach towards films have changed. He doesn’t make films for family audiences anymore is what most of his fans believe now. His recent film Power Star has raised up the heat and made way to many controversies. He was even attacked after challenging Pawan Kalyan’s fans. Even after that, there’s not a small change in his approach towards films but is getting worse.

All the OTTs have decided to not release or stream any of the films that are made by Ram Gopal Varma and agencies are not promoting him as well.
