Total lockdown in 5 cities, announces TN CM

In an attempt to control the spread of infection in major cities with dense population, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy has announced total lockdown in 5 cities namely Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Salem and Tiruppur.

As per the announcement, the total lockdown will be implementation in Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai from April 26, 6 AM to April 29, 9 PM and in Salem and Tiruppur the total lockdown will be imposed from April 26, 6 AM to April 28, 9 PM. 

Some of the services which will be exempted include Medical services, Govt services, Amma Unavagam, ATM centers, restaurants which have  home delivery options, mobile veg/fruits outlets, Community kitchens, NGOs which help poor, and take care of the elderly and differently abled. IT employees will be working from home and Koyambedu market will function following the rules.
