Tovino Thomas has revealed the leading lady for his upcoming film, Identity. The highly anticipated project will feature Trisha Krishnan as the female lead, marking their first collaboration. Identity, described as an action-thriller, is directed by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, the talented duo behind the film Forensic. Production is scheduled to begin in September this year.

While there were earlier rumors about Trisha being approached for the role, she confirmed her participation through an Instagram post. She expressed her excitement, stating, "Totally pumped to associate with this squad in a high octane action entertainer."

This will be Trisha's third Malayalam film, following Hey Jude and Ram, directed by Shyama prasad and Jeethu Joseph, respectively. She is currently working on Vijay's “Leo” and was last seen in Mani Ratnam's “Ponniyin Selvan 2”.

Meanwhile, Tovino is enjoying the success of his recent blockbuster film, “2018”, which holds the record as the highest-grossing Malayalam movie. He recently completed “Anweshippin Kandethum” and is currently shooting Lal Jr's Nadikar Thilagam, featuring Soubin Shahir in the lead. His next release will be the period action-adventure “Ajayante Randam Moshanam”, in which he plays a triple role for the first time in his career.

Identity, written by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, will be filmed with a substantial budget and is set to commence production in September. The team has also enlisted a Hollywood stunt director to enhance the action sequences.

Initially, Madonna Sebastian was announced as the female lead for Identity, but the makers have now opted for Trisha. The reasons for this change have not been disclosed, and the film is expected to have a pan-Indian release. Madonna's upcoming project, “Padmini”, starring Kunchacko Boban, is scheduled to hit theaters later this month.
