Biopic on renowned social activist Uma Preman announced

A biopic of renowned social activist Uma Preman has been announced to be directed by Vigneshwaran Vijayan who debuted in another biopic of 'Traffic Ramaswamy' starring S.A. Chandrasekhar in the title role.

Uma Preman is known for being a victim of child marriage and later when she got out of it hit the headlines for donating her kidney to a totally unknown person. She has then continued to work for the welfare of tribals and so far facilitated Around 2 lakh dialysis, more than 20,000 heart surgeries, 100s of kidney transplants, schools for tribal communities and low-cost houses for the deprived.

Vigneshwaran has stated "She was one among the women awarded by the president of the nation. The life of such an extraordinary woman is being made into a biopic film in Tamil and Malayalam simultaneously. There is no greater philosophy or thing than selfless love. Whenever people around her hurt, Mrs.Uma Preman replies back with love. I believe that this film will be inspirational for many."
