Title - Vascodigama, Producer - Ashwin, Direction - Madhuchandra, Music - Poornachandra Tejaswi, Camera - Karam Chawla, Cast - Kishor, Parvathi Nayar, Suchindra Prasad, Sunder and others.

The story line for this Madhu Chandra directorial venture is from `3 Idiots'. It is not the academic books that are important but knowledge to lead life is important. Secondly the areas of interest of youths should not be forced for career growth is the emphasis of this `Vascodigama'. So the lecturer kidnaps the college youths and leaves them to different walks of field for career growth. This is instead of writing examinations.

Is this possible in real life? No is the answer. Yet the honest attempt of changing the system is appreciable. We do not need software style hut hardware initiation is also right way to the present scenario. The compulsion in education system should be eradicated is also welcome step from this film.

The topper in the state Gnanavikas College is in bad shape because of Kannada lecturer Vasu (Kishor), he is one among the wayward students instead of taking them to right way. The atmosphere of the college is totally spoilt from Vasu who has good support from principal of the college. The founder of the college is totally hurt with such a development. He appoints Shanthi a lecturer as principal and asks her to show the results instead of closing the college.

Vasu falls in love with Shanthi (Parvathi Nair) and in later reels supports her to get good name to the college. That is not just scenario. Vasu believes strongly the identification of talent in carving a strong future is more important than giving academic education. In connivance of students he arrange for a test to the lecturers from students. Except Vasu all lecturers fail in this challenging task.

At this point Vasu kidnaps the students to a far off place to discover the talent hidden. He shows pretty good result when students get through in their area of interest.

Kishor in the title role of `discoverer' performed well in his portions. When he plays Kabbaddi with rival students and giving Kannada lecture on `Gadhaayudda' he must have remembered his past. Parvathi Nair suits the role precisely. Suchindra Prasad gets a wrong route in his impeccable journey of cinema, Sunder saying `I am not Andhar or Bahar but Sunder' manages pep required for the film.

Poornachandra Tejaswi has given a few absorbing tunes. The cinematography by Karam Chawla is also on top gear.

`Vascodigama' definitely makes the youths to think and take a decision in life for career growth.
