For the first time in the history of Tamil cinema, a movie went to floors at the famous Raj Bhavan, the official residence of Tamilnadu Governor on Wednesday.

State Governor Surjit Singh Barnala lit the lamp to mark the inauguration of the movie titled Vedha, which stars Arun Vijay in the lead role. Interestingly Barnala's grandson Jerovardhan makes his debut as actor in Vedha, which prompted the producer and the director to have the muhurat at the lawns of Raj Bhavan.

On the occasion, Barnala wished the cast and crew all the best. Arun Kumar aka Arun Vijay teams with 'Ilavattam' fame Sheela for the movie, which is directed by a debutant R Nithya Kumar, who had served as associate to the likes of K Subash and S J Suryah.

The newcomer Jerovardhan, son of senior Tamilnadu police officer Sarabjith Singh, is a grandson of Barnala.

Srikanth Deva is scoring the music for the movie.

Speaking about the film, the director said, 'It dwells on friendship and sacrifices being made by friends.' Among those present at the muhurat included veteran actor Vijayakumar, Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan, Arun Vijay, Sheela, Srikanth Deva among others.
