Venkat Prabhu who made his debut as an actor later became a sought after director through his film Chennai 28. He then rose to prominence by giving back to back hits like Saroja, Mangatha and many more.

Hs is known for experimenting with different genres and fun guarantees films. His first film Chennai 28 is a sports comedy-drama with an ensemble cast like Shiva, Premji, Jai, Aravind Akash, Vijayalakshmi and many more. Saroja again is a fun film which can make us laugh till the end. His huge project with Thala Ajith 'Mankatha' an action crime thriller made him the favourite of many. His film also reveals his love for Cricket and we all know he is a Thala Dhoni fan. His upcoming film Maanaadu also has high expectations from fans.

On the professional front, he is waiting for the release of  'Maanaadu' starring Silambarasan and SJ Surya in lead roles. The film is touted to be a political action thriller and is produced by Suresh Kamatchi. The film also features Kalyani Priyadarshan, Bharathiraja ,S A Chandrasekhar, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaran in prominent roles.
