Venkat Prabhu is an inevitable filmmaker who paved way for the new wave in Tamil cinema. He is an actor and playback singer turned director in Kollywood and marked his directorial debut with the path-breaking film "Chennai 600028" that won a 'cult classic' status with 11 newcomers playing the leads. It gave a new ray of hope to many aspiring filmmakers.

After a few box office setbacks, Venkat is back with a bang with his latest blockbuster, Maanaadu, a game-changing political time loop thriller in Indian cinema. Maanadu, starring Simbu and SJ Suryah, is set to go places with the Hindi and Telugu remakes, also helmed by Venkat Prabhu. Now, the director has talked about doing movies with top actors Ajith Kumar and Vijay in an interview with an entertainment portal.

Venkat Prabhu, during an interview with The Federal, said, "I guess, the Hindi remake of Maanaadu will go on the floors by the end of this year, so don’t want to miss the opportunity. I’m keen to bridge the gap by roping in actors from multiple industries. Even while penning scripts, I think of big names from either the same industry or different industries. I think it comes to me naturally."

When asked about reuniting with Ajith after the blockbuster Mankatha, the ace filmmaker stated, "It was my bad luck. I was supposed to work with Ajith sir immediately after Mankatha but due to my priorly signed agreement, I couldn’t honour the offer. I’m still in touch with Ajith sir. Just like you, I’m also expecting his call." On his possible film with Thalapathy Vijay, Prabhu added, "I want to crack open the project somehow. We have been in talks for a long time now. It’s my long-time wish to team up with Vijay sir and do something he hasn’t tried before. Hopefully, things will fall in place soon."
