Following 'Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru' whose release has been postponed from last week to this week, the release of actor cum music director Vijay Antony's 'Saithan' has also been postponed now.

The film directed by debutant Pradeep Krishnamurthy was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on November 17 has now been postponed to December first week. The new posters of 'Saithan' announces that the film will be hitting the screens on December 2, 2016.

Krishna-Dhanshika starrer 'Vizhithiru' and Nataraj-Sanchitha Shetty starrer 'Enkitta Mothathey' are the other two films scheduled to hit the screens on same day.

The demonitization move of the Indian Government which has rendered Rs.500 and Rs.1000 currency notes invaluable is taking its toll on Tamil cinema. Quite a few prominent films that have announced the release date well in advance have postponed their release now and uncertainty hangs over the release plans of many other films. The currency crunch has affected the cash transactions between Producers, distributors and exhibitors and also the footfall to theaters is considerably reduced as people would not prefer to spend on movie tickets at this time of cash crunch.
