Vijay Sethupathi currently has half a dozen projects in hand and another half more in the pipeline. A rumour started doing the rounds that he is playing an important character in Dhanush's new movie 'Asuran'.

Director Vetrimaaran has clarified that Vijay Sethupathi is not doing any role in his film and there is no scope for anyone else in screenplay other than Dhanush. It is worth mentioning that Vijay Sethupathi was penciled in for the pivotal character Rajan in Dhanush-Vettrimaaran's super hit 'Vada Chennai' but was later replaced by Ameer.

'Asuran' has entered its final schedule which will go on for forty-five days. The film stars Dhanush in dual roles as father and son while Manju Warrier plays the female lead.
