Prem Kumar the cinematographer of films like 'Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanom' will be making his directorial debut with the film titled as '96'. This film brings Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha as the lead pair for the first time. The film will be produced by S.Nandagopal of Madras Enterprises banner.

The makers have now announced that the shooting of '96' will begin from Monday (June 12) after a pooja between the Muhurhtam time of 9 to 10:30 AM.

The film is a love story and the year 1996 plays an important role in the story. That's why the film has been titled as 96. Govid Menon is the music director and N.Shanmuga Sundaram will handle the cinematography. R.Govindaraj will be the Editor. Uma Devi and Karthik Netha have penned the lyrics for the songs.
