Kollywood has come to a standstill as a result of the producers council strike with no new movie releases. In addition to that, all shootings have been stoped within the country and abroad as well. Only a few movies including Vijay’s ‘Thalapathy 62’ are continuing to shoot with permission from the council.

However, there is an air of dissent among a few who consider it to be special treatment giving permission to these films. We also know that the producers council came out with a clarification regarding the same. The meeting between the producers, theatre owners and distributors yesterday also didn’t seem to yield any worthwhile results in this regards.

Meanwhile, word has come out that Vijay Sethupathi and team have reached Portugal to shoot for his upcoming flick ‘Junga’.  Reportedly the crew including Vijay Sethupathi, actress Sayyesha along with director and the cameraman have gone for a 10 day shoot schedule which has become a cause for discontent among producers.

Not only this, the buzz is that some films will continue to shoot following ‘Junga’ with certain producers gearing up their finished projects for release. However, its impact on the council’s strike is something we need to wait and see.
