It is quite natural for expectations to shoot up when Sathyan Anthikkad and Ilayaraja join hands again for another film because they have worked together in many films together creating masterpieces including many recent super hits. This time Ilayaraja was working together with the recent sensation in lyric writing, Vayalar Sharath. The team has not disappointed this time too, but they have not created a track that will sustain for long, in our hearts .Ilayaraja as usual, has come up with a bag of melodies using the voices of six singers for the six tracks, of which two are repeat tracks in the album .Dileep is back playing a happy-go-lucky-youngster after trying out some different roles. Meera Jasmine plays the female lead in this film produced by Kalasangam.

1. Akki Kokki (Vijay Yesudas)

This is a song about philosophy of life using good lyrics that tells much about the aspects of irony in daily life. Vijay Yesudas has sung it well with rare mix of freshness and style.  And just check out, he sounds very similar to his father in voice modulation and tones. However, it is Vayalar Sharath's lyrics that do the talking of this peppy and fast number.

2. Mandhaara Poo (Madhu Balakrishanan, Shwetha)

The number Mandhaara Poo gives right momentum to the whole album. It is a romantic song with racy beats and soft lyrics by Vayalar Sharath.  Madhu Balakrishanan and Shwetha have sung it well with lots of freshness. The music director continues the rhythm all through. The track that conveys love, happiness and hope shows what a matured performer Madhu Balakrishnan has become. By toning down his voice he adds sensuality and feel to the song. The song will be the definite chart topper for quite some days.

3. Kaiyetthum Doorathu (K J Yesudas, Manjari)

This is the typical Ilayaraja stuff in the album with his characteristic arrangements. The song is rendered in different moods twice in the voices of K.J.Yesudas and Manjari. As a magician in music creation, Rajasab knows how to use right music at the right place and this song too has right rhythm, peppy beats and catchy lyrics. He deserves praises for the great work.

4. Thenni Paayum Thennale (Vineeth Sreenivasan, Afsal)

It is a harmonious number with fusion of western and Indian instruments. It has simple and earthy lyrics, yet it rocks with vigor and energy. Sung by Vineeth Sreenivasan and Afsal, the singer has tried their best to breathe life into a potential chart entry. It is another feel good number, using a plenty of chorus works, nice to listen to, but with a short lifespan.

In a nutshell, Ilayaraja is one music composer who never fails. The album of   Vinodhayathra is again showing that he is still the best.
