Vishal launches the second look poster of his debut directorial Thupparivalan 2!

Thupparivalan is a detective action thriller written and directed by Mysskin and produced by Vishal. The movie and its titular protagonist were both loosely inspired by British writer Arthur Conan Doyle's detective character 'Sherlock Holmes'. The narrative centres on the cases handled by the private investigator Kaniyan Poongundran.

The actor-director duo started a sequel titled 'Thupparivalan 2' after the success of the original film. Vishal and Prasanna were set to return as Kaniyan Poongundran and Manohar. But Mysskin withdrew from the project due to creative differences and financial issues earlier. Then, Vishal took over the film and announced it as his debut directorial.

The plot of Thuppraivalan 2 is set to unfold in London. The principal photography began in early November 2019 at Bristol and the first schedule wrapped a month later. Vishal Film Factory is bankrolling the sequel too. After the makers drifted apart, Vishal has now announced that the filming will reboot in April 2022 and the location hunt in London begins in January month.

Thupparivaalan 2 will have music scored by Ilaiyaraaja and cinematography by Nirav Shah. While the film's first look was released earlier during the first shoot, Vishal now released the second look of his debut venture. Sharing the poster, the action hero wrote, "Geared up for the Mega HUNT!!! All set for the recce of #Thupparivaalan2 this #Jan2022 in #London. Shoot to commence from #April2022.GB #Thupparivaalan2 #Detective2 #DirectionalDebut #ForeignCrew."
