Vivek Agnihotri calls Anurag Kashyap a vicious genocide denier for this reason

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri recently accused Anurag Kashyap of leading a campaign against his last film 'The Kashmir Files'. For the unversed, Vivek's film based on 1990 killings exodus of Kashmiri pandits, was released earlier this year and it was a huge critical and commercial success. Many lauded Vivek for portraying the plight of Kashmiri pandits through his film.

In a recent interview, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap had stated that he doesn't want 'The Kashmir Files' to be India's offical pick for the Academy Awards as Rajamouli's 'RRR' would be a better choice. "India might actually have a nomination in the final five if RRR is the film they pick. I don’t know what film anybody is going to pick. I hope not The Kashmir Files," Anurag had told Galatta Plus.

Offended by this statement, Vivek took to Twitter and accused Anurag of leading a campaign against his film. He wrote, "Important: The vicious, genocide-denier lobby of Bollywood has started their campaign against The Kashmir Files for Oscars, under the leadership of the maker of Dobaaraa."

Soon after this tweet, a Canadian filmmaker Dylan Mohan Gray responded to it and stated that 'The Kashmir Files' would indeed be a bad choice to represent India at Oscars. He wrote, "Yeah, actually it’s (hatemongering, revisionist) garbage of no artistic merit and will be a further embarrassment to India if ‘selected’ by the ‘neutral’ board… Anurag Kashyap is just trying to preserve what’s left of the country’s good name."
