If you too are a movie buff like me, you might have definitely seen the Hollywood flick, My Best Friend''s Wedding and its bollywood facsimile, ''Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai'' (by choice of not). And now if you are wondering why I am talking about these flicks, then let me worn you beforehand that ''Wedding Pulav'' is nothing different than these two films. Don''t believe us? Check it out for yourself...

Anushka (Anushka Ranjan) and Aditya (Diganth Manchale) have been the best of friends since ages, but have never developed a feeling for each other until, both are about to get married to other people. While Aditya is all set to marry Ria (Sonalli Sehgall), the daughter of rich businessman, for whom he works for, Anushka gets engaged to Jai (Karan Grover). While both the couples decide to get married in Thailand, Aditya develops a feeling of jealousy whenever he sees Anushka with Jai. Is he in love? Will he be able to share his feelings with Anushka? And will they finally live together? Forms the rest of the story...

Director Binod Pradhan has very smartly picked up instances from other bollywood movies including ''Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai'' and even ''Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'' in some places and has come up with a canvas of his own. But I think he forgets how smart our viewers are already. The concept and storyline has been done to death and the cliched Punjabi wedding template is doesn''t manage to excite us at all. The funny liners are not so funny and the songs come in after every 10-15 mins, acting as a huge hindrance in the plot. None of the songs stay with you after the film is over.

Speaking of performances, Dignath is decent, but needs a lot of improvement, while newcomer Anushka looks nothing close to being a bollywood actress. Neither her acting not her looks make her a perfect lead actress. However, she does dance well. Sonalli looks beautiful. Technically the film is sound. Cinematographer Gopal Shah has captured the colors and tradition of a Punjabi wedding well and the editing is crisp too. The climax is extremely predictable and run time of the film is too long for us to survive till then.

In all, recommending you to watch this movie will be crime, so watch ''Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2'' instead. The movie has nothing good or new to survive in the box office race.
