Saturday, March 2, 2019 • Tamil Comments

The widow of squadron leader Ninad Mandavgane who died in the Mi 17 chopper crash in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday, has condemned the social media warriors who have been urging the Indian government to wage a war against Pakistan.

Ninad’s wife Vijeta stated in an interview that Facebook warriors who demand war should go to the border themselves and see what it’s like to have one’s life at stake. She also clearly mentions that war is not needed. On being asked about her husband, Vijeta says he was, is, and will always be her life.

Ninad’s mortal remains were brought to Ojhar airport from New Delhi by a special IAF plane on Thursday night. Air Force officials, including the Air Commodore, commanding officer of the IAF Station, and Nashik’s Collector, paid tribute to the pilot there.

Before joining the IAF, Ninad Mandavgane studied at the Bhonsala Military School in Nashik, Services Preparatory Institute in Aurangabad and the National Defence Academy in Pune. He is survived by his parents, wife, and their two-year-old daughter.
