Yash Chopra receives FIAPF Award

His achievements are far-esteemed across the global film industry and the legend still keeps treading on the way to mark his feat. Of course, Yash Chopra – the versatile filmmaker and Indian Film Industry holds special mention for churning out magniloquent flicks in the row. His splendiferous achievements in film fraternity now get him to gain the prestigious FIAPF Award.

Mr. Yash Chopra was awarded the FIAPF Award for outstanding achievement in film making at the annual Asia Pacific Screen Awards, the region’s highest accolade in films. The awards were announced last year on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, on 11th November 2008, amidst more than 700 film industry luminaries from the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and the United States.

At the award ceremony last year, President of FIAPF, Mr Andrés Vincente Gomez, described Mr. Chopra as a legend in Hindi cinema who has played a seminal role in making Indian films more popular the world over.
