Before the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, several films with political contexts were released, setting the stage for a cinematic clash of ideologies. 'Yatra 2' aimed to bolster the image of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, portraying him as a heroic figure. In contrast, 'Rajadhani Files' took a critical stance against him. The upcoming films 'Vyuham' and 'Sapatham' by Ram Gopal Varma are expected to add more fuel to the political fire.

Despite being a Tamil film, 'Rakshasi', starring Jyothika, was dubbed and released in Telugu. The film is now set for a re-release in Telugu theaters under the title 'Amma Odi', reflecting the political undertones of the narrative.

Critics and audiences are now questioning whether other directors can capture the same magic as Mahi V Raghav did with 'Yatra'. There seems to be a sentiment that political filmmakers are not effectively portraying the power dynamics between protagonists and antagonists, as seen in 'Yatra 2', where the villainous portrayal of Chandrababu Naidu and the Telugu Desam Party is believed to be overly simplistic.

In 'Yatra 2', Mahi V Raghav reportedly takes creative liberties to enhance YS Jagan's image, depicting him as a champion for farmers against the political machinations of Chandrababu Naidu. However, this approach has led to criticism, with some accusing the film of distorting facts to suit its narrative.

The controversy surrounding 'Rajadhani Files' reached new heights when the AP High Court intervened, temporarily halting its release. The film allegedly depicts a scene where the chief minister character, resembling YS Jagan, murders an MP with an axe, drawing parallels to real-life events involving YS Vivekananda Reddy. This portrayal has sparked outrage and raised concerns about the film's impact on public perception.

Despite the controversies, Mahi V Raghav's films have been praised for their ability to resonate with YS family fans and attract audiences to theaters. In contrast, 'Rajadhani Files' has struggled to garner a similar level of attention, leading to speculations about the influence of political parties in the film industry.

As the political drama unfolds on the silver screen, all eyes are now on the upcoming film 'Pratinidhi 2', directed by journalist Murthy and starring Nara Rohit. Fans of the Telugu Desam Party are hopeful that this film will serve as a potent tool to counter the narrative of the YSRCP and bring about a change in government.
