It was in 1987, Sreenivasan created the most funny cinematic characters of our times-Dasan and Vijayan.

This was for the film ‘Naadodikkattu’ directed by Sathyan Anthikkad, in which Mohanlal and Sreenivasan breathed life becoming Dasan and Vijayan.

Thereafter in the following years, two sequels to this super hit film came in the titles –‘Pattanaprevesham’ and ‘Akkare Kaare Akkare’, which were also well received.

And now, the funny detectives Dasan and Vijayan, now working for the ‘Kerala Police’, are all set to make an onscreen comeback, after a decade.

The new film titled tentatively as ‘Dasanum Vijayanum’, will be directed by Roshan Andrews (who had directed ‘Udayanaanu Thaaram’ and ‘Note Book’). The project produced by Seven Arts is likely to start rolling by the end of 2008.

Another new name in the pre production department is the change under the name of scenarist, James Albert, who hit to stardom with classmates, replacing Sreenivasan who have nurtured the funny characters in the first three films.
