M. Padmakumar, the young director who became famous for his films with Prithviraj like ‘Ammakilikoodu’, ‘Vargam’ and ‘Vaasthavam’, will start the new film 'Gillette' in a couple of months. The movie will have Mammootty playing Gillette Purushottaman, a heartless financier who cares for nothing but money.

The film also brings back the hit pair of ‘Thuruppughulan’ Mammootty and Sneha once again onscreen. The same pair has also been the lead in the yet to released bilingual ‘Vandemataram’, directed by T Aravind. 'Gillette' produced by Holwy Potture in the banner of Dream Team Productions, is scripted by T A Rasaaq.

Earlier Rasaaq and Padmakumar were after another project with Mammootty in the lead role, titled 'Theepetty Chandran', in which Mammootty was to play an auto rickshaw driver named ‘Theepetty Chandran’, an out and out drunkard. But as another film starring Prithviraj as auto rickshaw driver came out recently, the makers were forced to shelve the project at least for the time being. It's reported that ‘Theepetty Chandran’ is not discarded by Mammootty and will shape up to shoot by the end of the year.

Meanwhile the director M Padmakumar has hit with a lottery gaining the dates for another film with Mohanlal, in the scripts of his Guru Renjith. Padmakumar also have a couple of projects with his favorite young hero Prithviraj , which will also start as soon the director is free from his present projects.
