While Mani Ratnam's much expected 'Raavan' is getting ready to make a world wide release in 1000 centres, the Kerala viewer will have to idly wait for another two weeks to get the taste of the movie. As the Film Distributors association of Kerala has issued an ultimatum to theatre owners to keep away from fresh other language releases for two weeks from their date of release, the 100 centres in Kerala earlier earmarked for the movie will not screen 'Raavan ' till the end of June.

The Reliance films who is distributing ‘Raavan’ is already blacklisted by the association, for not yielding to their demands. The association had earlier issued a red card to Shibu of Thameens for releasing the Tamil masala movie ‘Sura’ recently in 118 centres. The association had also succeeded in deferring the release of Surya’s ‘Singam’ till next weekend. Anyhow it is observed that the 'Tuglak' reforms are expected to create more problems to the already ailing industry.

'Raavan' is publicized as the biggest ever movie from Mani Ratnam, with a base story inspired from Ramayanam. The movie will feature the script by the director while his wife, Suhasini will handle the dialogues. Santhosh Sivan is in charge of the camera while A R Rahman sets the music to the movie.
