'Aadupuliyattam' team took a dig at actress Jewel Mary by inviting her as the chief guest for the 'Aadupuliyattam' 50 days celebrations. Jewel had rejected the offer to play the lead actress in it saying that she was not prepared to act in it since Jayaram was playing the lead. She had suggested a replacement of the lead actor.

However Jewel had denied the reports saying that she did't find the script interesting and that is the reason why she rejected the movie. Many are seeing the producers' move as a dig at the actress. It remains to be seen if she will accept the invitation. Jewel is in a happy place professionally with two Mammootty movies to her credit and popular stage shows and television hosting.
