Looks like the theatre strike in Kerala seems to be never-ending as all meetings between the producers and distributors associations in the state have gone in vain in the past few days. Due to the ongoing strike, no Malayalam movies have been released since December 16th. Even after the strike worsened with the latest exhibitor`s decision to shut all A-class theatres in the state, no top stars or their fans have interfered into the matter or voiced their opinion.

But now, with the dispute affecting the wide release of Ilayathalapathy Vijay`s Bairavaa that is slated to release tomorrow (January 12th), Vijay Fans in Kollam district took it up to themselves to protest against the ongoing strike.

Reportedly, over 100 members of Vijay Fans Association, Kollam Unit attended the protest march near the main releasing centres in the district. As the A-class theatres in the state will be shut from tomorrow, Bairavaa will be released only in 200 theatres which include only B and C theatres, and multiplexes that are owned/controlled by the Government.
