The principal shoot of the Tamil remake of Mammootty's 2015 Superhit 'Bhaskar The Rascal', has entered the final schedule. Titled 'Bhaskar Oru Rascal', the movie stars Arvind Swamy and Amala Paul reprising the roles of Mammootty and Nayanthara in the original. Reportedly, the shoot of the film is progressing at a brisk pace in Chennai, Cochin, Kolkata and the makers are aiming for a theatrical release in September. While the Malayalam original was a Vishu release in Kerala, it looks like 'Bhaskar Oru Rascal' will be an Onam treat for Kerala audiences.

'Bhaskar The Rascal' is about the life of Bhaskar, a business tycoon, a widower and a loving father. What happens when a single mother comes to his life forms the crux of the story. The basic storyline of the remake will be the same as its original, but there will be small obvious changes to suit the Tamil sensibilities. Master Raghav of 'Sethupathi' fame, Baby Nainika of 'Theri' fame and Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani will play important roles in the Tamil remake.

'Bhaskar Oru Rascal', which is being directed by Siddique, is his fifth movie in Kollywood. The hitmaker had earlier directed Thalapathy Vijay`s Friends, Kaavalan, Vijayakanth`s Engal Anna and Prasanna`s Sadhu Miranta in Tamil, which were the remakes of his Malayalam super hits.
