A veteran old horse in the direction department with over 50 films to his credit HR Bhargava is the guest of honor at 'Belli Hejje' of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy. He will address on his life journey on 16th February at 5.30 pm.

Growing under the tutelage of Hunsur Krishnamurthy the prominent director made entry as co director in Kannada cinema. He became independent director from 'Bhagyavantharu' of Dr Rajakumar and Dr B Saroja Devi.

Born on July 14, 1940 HR Bhargava worked in the camp of directors like Siddalingaiah and Geetha Priya. He has two silver jubilee and five hundred days films to his credit. He evolved Kalakruthi banner with cameraman DV Rajaram and made films like Hrudayageethe, Jeevana Chakra, Karunamayi, Jananayaka, Gandanige Thakka Hendathi, Preethi Vatsalya. Before these films HR Bhargava directed films like Asadya Aliya, Onde Guri, Mathe Hadithu Kogile, Preethi Vatsalya, Maneye Mantralaya etc.

The last film he directed was his 50th film Rs.10 crores film 'Gandugali Kumara Rama'. He was also in to television with serials like Uyyale, Sanghatane etc.
