Looking very grand in the grandmother get up Sowcar Janaki addressing the media said she was in surprise when the offer came to her when she was shopping at Jayanagar. For remembering her and giving offer to play grandmother role she is very thankful. She was under the impression that life in cinema is over. Such surprise calls makes very happy at this stage of age she disclosed.

I have no qualms, no worries and leading a happy life. I have not made crores of rupees but earned in life to lead a stress free life. From what I have earned a portion is given for social service. I maintain the same old principles even at this age say the actress who is befitting to her 'Sowcar'. It is from the first film 'Sowcar' she got the nick name for her Janaki name.
I have two daughters and one son living in California. I go often to USA and find a different atmosphere she says. On her ambition not fulfilled the actress says there nothing like that. When I produced the film 'Kavya Thalaiva' I got most of my ambition fulfilled. It bagged over a dozen awards in KB direction.
Sowcar Janaki was bestowed doctorate from Arizona University is the one of the very few actresses to star in big stars of yesteryear films. She had acted with NTR, MGR, Dr Rajakumar, Shivaji Ganeshan, Gemini Ganeshan etc. Granddaughter of Sowcar Janaki Vaishnavi is also an actress in Malayalam films. She is the elder sister of actress Krishna Kumari.
Sowcar Janaki has high regard for Kannada cinema industry. Coming from Tamil Nadu to Karnataka the Kannada cinema industry showed it is self reliant and focusing on good quality films. It may not have grown like other language films spreading its wings world across but quality and atmosphere are always good she opines.
On other languages making disturbance to Kannada films the renowned senior actress says it should not happen. Other languages have their own states why should they trouble Kannada film collections she asks.
